Our Story

The past, present, and future

What began as one man’s vision for meeting the commercial printing needs of a community has over time earned a stellar reputation for service and is now known as QSL Print Communications. Started in 1950 by Ivan Gribskov and then later transferred to his son, Pete, QSL now combines the pedigrees of two local families, the Gribskovs and Kokes. Doug Koke currently carries the tradition of QSL forward with the well-respected Koke name within the printing community that reaches back to his father and grandfather more than a century ago.

Quick Service Litho was first created in response to a growing need in the Willamette Valley for a local solution to high-quality printing in a timely fashion. At the time, many Oregon companies were having to laboriously order their printed documents through a national sales office, after which they would wait for weeks for their stationery and sales slips to return. The local and responsive solution that QSL was able to offer quickly became a much more reasonable and dependable answer.

Over the decades that followed, QSL continued to provide printing solutions to the changing needs of each era, including ventures into publishing and digital photography. Since taking ownership in 2007, Doug Koke has been expanding QSL’s capabilities with the latest technology, making QSL Print Communications a local leader in digital-print services.
